This article covers the setting you need to use to point your domain name at So Good Hosting name server (DNS). This article will also cover step by step instructions for some of the most popular domain name registration services.
What are So Good Hosting domain name server (DNS)?
So Good Hosting runs two DNS server for our Web Hosting Clients ns1.soogoodhosting.com and ns2.sogoodhosting.com
Name Servers:
- ns1.sogoodhosting.com
- ns2.sogoodhosting.com
General Instructions
Please note that these are general instructions and that the process may vary from different domain name registration services otherwise known as domain registrar.
- Log in to your domain registrar account this process will vary based on the domain registrar
- Once you have logged in to your account you will need to find your domain name. Look for a section that either says “Domains”, “Manage Domains”
- Locate the Domain you wish to point at to So Good Hosting name servers
- You may need to click on the domain name or on a button/link that says manage domain name.
- Now that you have selected your domain you wish to point at So Good Hosting name servers you will need to find a section/link/button that says manage name servers or DNS Servers click on that.
- You will then be presented with either a form a the current list of name servers.
- If you are presented with a form that lists ns1.somedomain.com, ns2.somedomain… follow these instructions
- replace ns1.somedomain.com with ns1.sogoodhosting.com
- replace ns2.somedomain.com with ns2.sogoodhosting.com
- if there are additional name servers listed remove them
- Click Save/Update to commit the changes
- Logout and your done.
- Some domain registrars require additional steps to update or set custom name servers please check with your domain name registrar for steps to enable custom (DNS) Name Server configuration.
